Yes! While Forty-Two Productions is based in Minnesota, our DJs travel throughout the Midwest and beyond to create unforgettable celebrations, parties, and events.
Can we meet our DJ before the wedding?
Absolutely. Open communication is key to a great experience. We require a planning meeting, either in person or virtually, to discuss your timeline, music preferences, and overall vibe.
Can we choose the music for our wedding?
Of course! We’ll work with you to figure out your taste, vibe, and energy. You can also share a “do-not-play” list to make sure your night sounds exactly the way you want.
Will the DJ take song requests from guests?
Yes, unless you prefer otherwise. Our DJs read the room and use discretion to keep the energy flowing while honoring your requests and preferences. Our DJs typically take requests “with a grain of salt.”
Do you help with ceremony and cocktail hour music?
Definitely. We can handle music and sound support for every part of your day — from your ceremony and cocktail hour to dinner and the dance floor.
Do you bring your own sound and lighting equipment?
Yes. We provide professional-grade sound systems, wireless microphones, and dynamic lighting setups to make your wedding or event both look and sound amazing.
How much time do you need for setup and teardown?
Pending gear needs, we typically arrive 2–3 hours before your event to set up and sound-check. Teardown usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour after the event ends.
What happens if there’s a technical issue?
Our DJs always come prepared with backup equipment and contingency plans to ensure everything runs smoothly — no awkward silences, no stress.
How much does a wedding DJ cost?
Pricing varies depending on your location, event length, and package options. We’ll create a custom quote based on your unique vision and needs. Our packages typically run between $2000–$3000+, pending wants and needs.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance due before your wedding day. This guarantees your spot on our calendar.
What if my DJ gets sick or can’t make it?
Life happens — but we’ll make sure you’re covered. We’re a small team of professional, experienced DJs that are part of a much larger network in Minnesota. So if anything unexpected happens, we’ll provide a qualified replacement to ensure your celebration goes off without a hitch.
